Lasting Difference Practice Sharing Event

Networking for lasting impact!

Join us for our first practice-sharing event for organisations who have used the Lasting Difference toolkit or been awarded the Lasting Difference Symbol. The interactive online session offers valuable, protected time and space for:

• Sharing practice with likeminded peers, including Lasting Difference Symbol holders
  
• Developing responses to sustainability challenges
• Learning about sustainable impact: building capacity in the communities or issues you support
• Contributing to how the Lasting Difference and the Symbol develop from here.

Programme:

We'll start with a brief update on the new edition Lasting Difference toolkit and recently published Lasting Leadership guide.

We'll then share sustainability successes, challenges and learning from practice, before moving into small groups. Peer sharing and support are the main focus of the day: a chance to share and learn from other people taking action on sustainability.

After that, we'll discuss sustainable impact: whether and how life and legacy can continue when our organisations move on. Finally, we conclude by thinking about some next steps and idea generation: e.g. should we develop a sustainability community of practice; the future of the Lasting Difference Symbol; other Lasting Difference resources to develop?

For the final half hour, there's an optional informal networking session using our accessible learning platform.

FAQs

Q. Does my organisation need to have been awarded the Lasting Difference Symbol to take part?

A. No - the event was originally designed for symbol holders but we have opened it up to let everyone with an interest in nonprofit sustainabilty take part. Some symbol holders will be there though, giving everyone the chance to share good practice.

Q. What do I need to prepare?

A. Please bring a sustainability challenge that you would like support with - it might be related to survival or growth, change or resilience, income generation or impact measurement. This is a special opportunity to get expert input from sector leaders.

Q. Who will be there?

A. We expect around 10-15 people, mostly managers, business development people and fundraisers in Scottish or UK charities. The core Lasting Difference team will be there too: Graeme, Jen and Jenny.

Q. What platform are you using? Do I need any special equipment?

A. We use our online learning platform called Big Blue Button. We'll send you a user name and log in along with a few tips (if you've used our platform before, you can use your usual login). It's a fantastic resource - we love it for allowing us to replicate as closely as possible every element you would expect from a face-to-face session!
